I’m Sam, I am passionate about breastfeeding, supporting, protecting and promoting it.
I believe that it is important to offer the right support to mothers on their breastfeeding journey and to inform them to be able to make their own feeding choices.
I have many years of breastfeeding experience both personal and professional.
I have two daughters, 8 and 18 months and have breastfed both.
My youngest happens to have Downs Syndrome, and so I had to overcome a few difficulties with trying to breastfeed her, am happy to say we are still feeding!
I started out doing a NHS peer supporter course and volunteered at my local baby cafe for 2 years, I then worked in maternity on a postnatal ward at UCLH as a maternity support worker, I then moved on to work at Kings as an infant feeding support worker, I also worked in the tongue tie clinic there providing breastfeeding support directly after babies having the procedure.
Alongside this I also completed 90 hours of Lactation Education with Breastfeeding London, I have also went on a postnatal doula course as this is something I would like to do in the future.
I have learnt so much in the last few years and look forward to putting it into practice with supporting parents on their feeding journeys.
I'm really looking forward to meeting you!
